ALL-NEW 2024 LEXUS GX: AN ADVENTUROUS LUXURY SUV EXPERIENCE

The 2024 Lexus GX is unmistakably redesigned but Lexus drivers and enthusiasts can rest assured that the all-new GX builds upon the strong foundation created by the outgoing generation, and injects inspiring, intuitive technology, impeccable interior touches, and improved off-road prowess that Lexus GX drivers have come to expect.

Driving improvements will enhance any city adventure and off-road journey with its new GA-F platform that was introduced on the current-generation LX 600 and offers remarkable driving stability.  Our North Park Lexus Rio Grande Valley guests will experience enhanced performance with the new, standard twin-turbocharged 3.4L V6 engine paired with a 10-speed Direct Shift Automatic Transmission that delivers an improved 349 horsepower (outperforming the previous generation V8’s 301 horsepower) in addition to a massive 479 lb-ft torque output and an increased towing capacity of up to 8,000 lbs. for Premium, Premium+, and Overtrail grades with the standard tow hitch.

The second powertrain option that Lexus briefly mentioned in the Lexus Press Release on June 8, 2023, will be a hybrid and it is slated for a later availability date in the U.S.

Luxury SUV enthusiasts will immediately appreciate the aggressive exterior design of the updated Lexus GX, a noticeable change from the previous generation with a square-body profile, wide track, and fender flares which help increase the width by 3.74-inches (Overtrail by 4.52-inches) compared to the previous-generation GX. The 2024 Lexus GX also features improved clearance with a decrease in the front overhang by 0.78 inches and a longer wheelbase of 2.36 inches.  Other design updates for the 2024 GX include increased visibility thanks to the A-pillar having been pulled back and an increase in overall length by 2.75 inches.  Possibly the most exciting and controversial design update is seen in the back with the rear door…

We are thrilled to report that the 2024 Lexus GX will feature a new, standard power rear lift door including a pop-out window and an available kick sensor for hands-free convenience.

The rear door update, finally completed and attributed to customer feedback, may be enough for most GX owners to trade in and update to the new model year, but there is, even more, to discover with the redesigned Lexus SUV classic that is sure to appeal to every driver.

The 2024 GX will be offered in 11 exterior color options depending on grade: Eminent White Pearl, Nebula Gray Pearl, Atomic Silver, GX-first Incognito, Caviar, Nori Green Pearl, and Nightfall Mica.  The Overtrail and Overtrail+ options will offer exclusive bi-tone exterior color combinations including Atomic Silver/Black Roof, Incognito/Black Roof, Nori Green Pearl/Black Roof, and Lexus-first Earth/Black Roof.

The 2024 Lexus GX will come with a standard 14-inch Multimedia Touchscreen Display with Lexus Interface technology including standard wireless Apple CarPlay Integration and Android Auto compatibility, as well as a digital 12.3-inch Multi-Information Display (MID).  The physical dials for frequently used controls such as air conditioning and audio volume remain, and all available off-road controls are concentrated near the updated gear shifter.  You can check out a few more of the differences in the comparison image below.

The new GX is available in both a semi-aniline leather and NuLuxe trimmed interior in either Black, Dapple, Gray, or Saddle Tan with black or dark brown grained trim.  Overtrail grades are available in a GX-first color combination of Black NuLuxe trimmed interior with Olive  Ultrasuede accents or Chateau NuLuxe trimmed interior with Olive Ultrasuede accents and black ornamentation.

2024 models will feature six illuminated charging ports (four charging ports for Overtrail grades) and a wireless charger that will be available in the front console tray.  The new GX also offers increased interior storage in the center console, and door pockets and will offer up to 12 cupholders.  The luggage space has been improved and can now hold up to 5 suitcases with the 3rd row folded.  You will also find two additional storage spaces added under the cargo area to hold smaller items and a 120V AC inverter for power needs.
