This is mated to a five-speed sequential shift mode automatic super ECT transmission with overdrive, lockup torque converter and transmission cooler, which delivers power to the pavement – or the trail – through Toyota’s on-demand, one-touch 4WD system. Additional performance features include Hill-start Assist Control and Downhill Assist Control.

And when adventure requires a trailer, the 2018 4Runner offers up a 2,268 kg (5,000 lb) towing rating, enhanced with a trailer sway control system, a tow hitch, and 4+7 pin trailer wiring harness as standard gear on all models.
