For its first global battery electric vehicle, Lexus engineers embraced the Lexus Driving Signature, then started with a dedicated BEV platform to create a powertrain that takes full advantage of the distinct performance of a pure BEV. Built around a 71.4 kWh battery mounted low in the platform to lower the centre of gravity, the RZ’s power output of 150 kW to the front and 80 kW to the rear translates to 308 system horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque across a broad speed range. The Lexus DIRECT4 all-wheel-drive system controls front and rear drive force according to driving and road surface conditions while the paddle shifters provide a more engaging experience when desired. The RZ 450e has a driving range of up to 354 km when equipped with 18-inch wheels (315 km with 20-inch wheels), and all models include a Level 1 charging cable – enabling Guests to recharge their RZ from any standard, grounded 120V AC power outlet. For faster charging, the RZ can also be plugged into Level 2 (240V AC) or Level 3 (480V DC) charging systems. For peace of mind, all EV components including the battery are warrantied for eight years or 160,000 km.

The 2025 Lexus RZ expresses the seamless acceleration and dynamic torque that’s unique to battery electric vehicles, through a body style that captures a minimalist, futuristic aesthetic. With no combustion engine to cool, the front presents a fresh, grille-free face and a sleek front bumper design that includes headlamps designed to highlight the bold Lexus L-signature. The body flares at the rear to express the RZ’s powerful traction. Other notable exterior features include LED daytime running lights, clearance lights, and rear combination lamps, power folding and heated mirrors with integrated signal lamps, and rain-sensing wipers.

Inside, the RZ welcomes up to five adults to a modern cabin informed by a clean design eye and finished with luxury features and intelligent amenities. High-quality craftsmanship is evident throughout. Front seats are power adjustable, while a dual-zone independent automatic climate control system provides year-round comfort. Each model features a grade-specific ambient illumination system that injects the interior with sophisticated flare and contributes to a richer, more immersive experience while driving.

Every 2025 RZ features advanced yet intuitive technology features, headlined by the Lexus Interface. This wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto-compatible multimedia and connectivity system features a 14-inch touchscreen display, Bluetooth connectivity, and Sirius XM Satellite radio. The Lexus Interface incorporates a virtual assistant that enables a voice-first approach to navigation, media, communication, and other vehicle features. In addition, all Lexus Interface connected services may be controlled from a smart phone equipped with the Lexus App. Other technology features include multiple USB charging ports, a wireless charging dock for personal electronics, and the Lexus smart key system with push button start.

As a Lexus, every RZ is impressively equipped with state of the art safety features. All models are fitted with Lexus Safety System + 3.0 – a portfolio of Lexus active safety technologies that supports the driver’s awareness and decision-making under a range of traffic conditions and contingencies. Other standard safety systems include the Blind Spot Monitor System with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, eight airbags, Safe Exit Assist with Digital Latch, a backup camera with back guide monitor, rear seat reminder system, and a tire pressure monitoring system.
