Behold the Lexus IS
Powertrain and Engine Options
New for 2016 are additional engine options for the Lexus IS. The Lexus IS 200t is available with a turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder engine at 241 horsepower and 10.6/7.2 L per 100km (City/Hwy). This engine has been fine-tuned for ultra smoothness and responsiveness. The Lexus IS 300 AWD gets a 3.5L V6 at 255 HP and 12.6/9.2 L per 100km (City/Hwy), and the Lexus’ all-wheel drive is smart, intuitively channeling power to the wheels to optimize traction and control. And then there’s the Lexus IS 350 AWD with the 3.5L V6 and at 306 HP with 12.6/9.2 L per 100km (City/Hwy) for those looking for that extra boost of power.
The Tech in the Lexus IS
Every Lexus IS comes standard with Apple’s Siri Eyes Free technology, which lets you activate your iPhone with verbal commands, giving you access to your music or to navigation. The IS also features the latest technology in Lexus’ Remote Touch Interface (RTI) system, letting drivers operate the ultra-efficient, dual-zone climate control with touch- and temperature-sensitive controls. You’ll also love the audio in the available Mark Levinson Premium Surround System if you enjoy the finest music quality while you drive. The IS can be enhanced with the Premium Plus Package that adds a power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel and rain-sensing windshield wipers. And, especially for us Canadians during our winters, you can also add a heated steering wheel.
The Lexus IS Safety
The 2016 Lexus IS features high-strength, ultra-high tensile steel materials which offer superior driver and passenger safety on the road. There are 10 standard SRS airbags, including two-stage, dual SRS front airbags; driver and front-passenger SRS knee airbags; SRS side airbags in the front and back; and full-length SRS side-curtain airbags.
