Test Drive the New Lexus LX
A Striking Look
The 2016 Lexus LX has been totally restyled. The single-piece spindle grille is framed with satin chrome trim, and new LED headlights and redesigned taillights complement the new look. Strength combines with elegance to give the LX its new appearance, and the interior is just as striking.
The center console has been entirely redesigned and a lot of care and craftsmanship has gone into the new look. Beautiful wood finishes adorn the steering wheel, shift knob, center console, and door trim, and supple leather cloaks everything else around you. The optional Cabernet interior colour gives this powerful vehicle a sportier look for those of you with a fixation for speed.
The solid body-on-frame construction makes the Lexus LX the perfect vehicle for all-surface and all-weather performance. This construction is as smart as it is strong; the cabin is isolated from the frame, reducing vibrations and noise inside the LX’s interior.
With seating for eight and accommodation for any cargo you might need for the trip, you’re good to go, not matter your destination. The second row has power sliding functionality, and the back row offers power folding to make sure not a single inch of the LX goes to waste.
Powerful, but Smart
The LX has a powerful V8 engine to punch out 383 horsepower and 403 lb.-ft. of torque and let it climb right over just about any obstacle. With modern features like Dual Variable Valve timing with intelligence and Sequential Multi-Port Fuel Injection, this V8 is as efficient as you’d expect from a Lexus vehicle.
This Lexus has the new eight-speed Super Electronically Controlled Transmission (Super ECT) to offer one of the most functional driving experiences we’ve seen yet in a Lexus. This, combined with the vehicle’s ability to continuously monitor road conditions and predict your driving intentions, lets the LX select the most appropriate gear for the current driving conditions. Or if you’d prefer to have full control over the LX, employ the sequential shift feature to engage the manual transmission.
Stability and Your Safety
The 2016 Lexus LX features a permanent four-wheel drive (4WD) system to send power to all four wheels and keep the LX 100% in your control. And thanks to Active Traction Control (A-TRAC), you’ll have optimum traction on the road; if any wheel slips for any reason, A-TRAC applies automatic brake force to that particular wheel, and driving force to the wheels with grip.
And now, the new Lexus Safety System+ is standard on every LX. This combines the most modern and advanced safety technologies to keep you safely on the road. The Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert, Automatic High Beam, and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control features are ideal for city and highway driving. And for both on- and off-road driving, the LX 570’s voice-activated Hard Disk Drive navigation system has XM Satellite Radio4 and XM NavTraffic to get you around. You’ll also appreciate having the standard Head-Up Display, projecting real-time driving information onto the lower driver-side windshield to help you keep your eyes looking ahead.
